The Big O Tires Story

The Big O Tires story begins in 1962, amid America's burgeoning love affair with the automobile and the exploding market for replacement tires. Independent tire dealers struggled to compete against low prices from major tire manufacturers' own stores, leading a group of progressive dealers to form a tire-buying cooperative to secure volume pricing and maintain customer satisfaction. This cooperative evolved into a full-fledged franchise, leveraging collective power to benefit independent dealerships and their customers, eventually becoming North America's largest retail tire franchisor with over 480 locations in 20 states. In 1996, Big O Tires joined the TBC Retail Group, and its reach expanded further in 2005 when TBC was acquired by Sumitomo Corporation of America, yet it remains committed to its roots as a collective of independent dealers focused on customer satisfaction.
